NHSUA Uniform & Equipment Code

Uniforms


  • Umpire cap: Navy-blue with NH logo*
  • Shirts: Powder-blue collared shirt. An optional dark blue collared shirt is for regular season play only.
    If a T-shirt is worn, it will be navy-blue. A 2" x 5" American flag patch may be worn on the back of the shirt:
    gold trim for veterans and silver trim for all others. For those who qualify, a 25-year patch may be worn
    on the left sleeve of the shirt.
  • Pants: Heather Grey
  • Belt: Black with an unadorned buckle
  • Ball bag(s): Heather grey. Plate umpire only; may wear 2.
  • Socks: Black or Navy-blue socks
  • Shoes: Black with black laces. Hard toe for plate umpire.
  • Outerwear: Association Jacket with NH emblem* or lined navy-blue pullover with grey/white trim.
    Optional: navy-blue sweater.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO USA SOFTBALL LOGO EQUIPMENT (or other sanctions) IS ALLOWED IN ANY GAME
  • Partners must be dressed alike.

Equipment


  • All umpires will carry an indicator
  • Plate umpire required equipment:
    • Face mask with extended throat protector. A hockey-style helmet is acceptable.
    • Chest protector
    • Protector cup or pelvic protector
    • Shin guards (Preferably those that protect the kneecaps)
    • Lineup card holder and pen or pencil

* NH logo caps and jackets are available only though NHSUA approved vendors. Caps and jackets may be purchased from: Ump-Attire

Standard equipment (shirts, pants, chest protectors, masks, shin guards, etc.) may be purchased from any vendor of choice.
