Evaluation: Jim Charland reported on the season of evaluations and said that a report will be coming to the Board at the next meeting in Sept. Ranking umpires was not approved. The evaluations of umpires during the tournament was used to help each umpire to improve and not to rank them.
Softball Committee: Pierre will be meeting with the NHIAA Softball Committee and suggest that we use a 3-person system in the quarters next year.
Web Site: Hank recommended that the umpires that worked the tournament be listed and that the umpires that were evaluated this year be listed. Both recommendations passed. Hank will also set up an area on the web for the Billy Mak to explain the arbiter to the members.
Arbiter: Bill Mak will have the arbiter set up that next season the AA umpire will be a 150 and A will be 100 and B will be 200, C will be 300, D will be 400, apprentices 500 and non members will be 600.
Evaluators: It was moved and passed that we pay those that did the evaluations this year mileage if they went over 40 miles one way or over 80 miles both ways. This would be retroactive and Jim will get the amount to Hank who will send the evaluators a check to cover mileage.
It was moved and passed that those members working the Maine, New Hampshire softball All Star game will be paid $50 each from the Association.
Consititution: There is a committee assigned to review the consititution. They will be looking at and reporting back to the EB on Responsibility and Discipline of members and the Duties of the Officers. Len Lavin will represent the Board, Terry Warren and Tom Ebol will represent the Regional Assignors and two members at large will be selected. They will meet to review and report back to the Board for action at the March 2009 Annual Meeting.
Kevin Farnsworth was discussed and the Board has agreed to have him evaluated next season to see if he will be moved from a D umpire.
Women in finals. The EB feels that we are getting more qualified women in the Association and are looking to get more women to be assigned a final.
